Our children have the right to innocence – to be safe and secure in their world of family and neighborhood as they grow, play, imagine, and develop in self-worth as well as in social relationships. Our children have the right to mature and to become empowered and productive adults seeing life through a lens of love rather than fear.
Unfortunately, there is a dark side of evil with our societies that neglects, abuses, and betrays too many of our children. And too often this power of evil is administered by the very ones who should love these children most.
There is always evil in the misuse of power. One of these misuses is the exploitation of children; one of the most heinous being sexual exploitation.
Children are sexual beings from birth and remain so all through their lives. This sexuality needs to be affirmed but not precociously stimulated. All adults must be trustworthy models so that children receive clear images of the differences between love and exploitation.
Amy’s House is about the children who are victims of this dark side of our society, experiencing commercial sexual exploitation at the hands of adults misusing their power. Amy’s House is about restorative care and the healing of trauma brought on by evil powers.
As you learn more about our “cause” to heal and empower teenage girls who were enslaved and exploited, who were betrayed and abused, who were children with lives interrupted, we hope that your heart will be broken and that our cause becomes your cause.
